Coatzacoalcos municipal launches summer arts events and teen pregnancy prevention initiative

The Coatzacoalcos city council opened the "Coatza Vive el Verano 2026" campaign, offering a series of family‑friendly cultural activities. On July 24, the program began at the open‑air theatre of the Casa de Cultura with games, crafts and a cinema screening, and will continue on July 31 and August 14, 21 and 28. The same day the collective graphic exhibition "El Lenguaje de la Gubia" was inaugurated at Galería Casa Chantli, featuring works created with engraving techniques.

In parallel, the municipal government formally established the Interinstitutional Group for the Prevention of Adolescent Pregnancy (Gipeam). The group, comprising representatives from government, education and health sectors, adopted an annual work plan aligned with the national ENAPEA strategy. Its priorities include comprehensive sexual education, youth‑friendly health services, safe environments for adolescents and prevention of sexual violence, with workshops in schools and teacher training scheduled for 2026.
