Cocentaina and Alfarrasí kick off 2026 Moros i Cristians festivals in Valencia

The towns of Cocentaina and Alfarrasí in the Valencian Community will host their 2026 Moros i Cristians festivals in August. Cocentaina’s celebrations run from 7 to 10 August and feature a new festival board led by Ignasi B. Reig, nightly concerts by local musical societies, a traditional children’s parade and cultural performances in the historic Palau Comtal. Alfarrasí’s programme stretches from 7 to 18 August and includes a scientific conference by Iván Martí, a solar‑eclipse observation at the Ermita, a series of religious rites, the traditional Entrada de Moros i Cristians, and nightly musical shows.

Both festivals combine traditional parades, music, sport and religious observances, highlighting local heritage while adding new activities such as the eclipse viewing and scientific talks.
