Cockroach Janata Party campaigns for school reforms and opposes UPI fees
The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has launched the ‘Adivasi School Thik Karo’ campaign in Rajasthan to improve school and hostel conditions in tribal regions. CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka stated the initiative follows the ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign, which has audited over 15,000 schools since August 15. The campaign has reportedly pressured governments in Haryana and Rajasthan to address dilapidated infrastructure; in Haryana, over 2,800 structures are slated for demolition. In response to audits of 500 schools, the Rajasthan government has announced a ₹12,500 crore roadmap to refurbish school infrastructure over the next three years.
Separately, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has called for the immediate withdrawal of proposed Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) transaction charges for UPI, describing the move as “outright robbery.” Dipke argued that the government is effectively taxing a cashless economy that citizens adopted following demonetization. Other political figures, including Congress MP Rajeev Shukla and BJD MP Subhashish Khuntia, joined the criticism, noting that the charges contradict previous assurances and will place an undue financial burden on small traders and street vendors.
