Cockroach Janta Party calls for nationwide youth protest in New Delhi

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and various student organizations, including the All India Students’ Association (AISA), have organized a nationwide youth-led protest scheduled for October 10 at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The demonstrators are demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and an investigation into alleged irregularities during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Key demands include freezing the SIR process, restoring the January 2025 voter list, and reforming the laws governing Election Commission appointments.

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das and founder Abhijeet Dipke have expressed concerns regarding 'vote theft' and the exclusion of Gen Z from electoral rolls. Dipke also alleged that police in Chandrapur have been pressuring activists by questioning their travel expenses and warning of potential violence. In response to the upcoming demonstration, Delhi Police have increased security measures, including tracking approximately 2,800 individuals with criminal records and monitoring entry routes into the capital.

Separately, in Pune, students are protesting against the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) over alleged paper leaks and examination irregularities, calling for the resignation of Chairman Vivek Bhimanwar. This movement has gained political support from figures such as Rahul Gandhi and Rohit Pawar.
