Cocoa Marketing Company launches 24-hour framework to boost Ghana exports
The Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC) has launched a new 24-hour operational framework designed to accelerate Ghana’s cocoa logistics and export processes. The initiative, which includes three core components—Offload 24, Load 24, and Export 24—aims to move cocoa more efficiently from warehouses to local processors and international markets.
Under the ‘Offload 24’ component, Licensed Buying Companies can deliver cocoa around the clock to reduce truck queues and congestion. ‘Load 24’ focuses on providing a continuous supply of cocoa to local processing factories to maximize their capacity. Finally, ‘Export 24’ extends inspection, documentation, and shipment preparation activities beyond conventional working hours to better align with port and vessel schedules.
CMC Managing Director Wisdom Kofi Dogbey stated that the model is intended to remove logistical constraints and support the government’s broader 24-Hour Economy agenda. The framework will be implemented across facilities in Tema, Kumasi, and Takoradi, with performance being measured by truck turnaround times, shipment performance, and overall operational efficiency.
