CODHEM and Toluca City Council launch environmental cleaning initiative
The Human Rights Commission of the State of Mexico (CODHEM) and the Toluca City Council coordinated a cleaning day as part of the ‘Toluca se pone guapa’ program. The initiative aimed to promote the right to a healthy environment by improving public spaces shared with citizens.
Víctor Leopoldo Delgado Pérez, president of CODHEM, stated that environmental care is directly linked to human dignity, noting that environmental deterioration impacts health and well-being. He emphasized that ‘a clean environment is, in fact, an exercised human right.’
The activity involved various local institutions, including the General Hospital ‘Dr. Nicolás San Juan’, the Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de México, and the State Archive of Mexico. Delgado Pérez announced plans to expand these environmental actions and training activities to other CODHEM locations.
