CODHEM reaches 176,000 people with human rights actions

The Human Rights Commission of the State of Mexico (CODHEM) reported that between January 1 and August 10, 2026, it conducted 3,472 preventive actions, including training, promotion, and awareness activities. These efforts benefited 176,250 people across the state, reaching 113 of the 125 municipalities, representing a 90.4 percent territorial coverage.

Women comprised the majority of beneficiaries at 57.7 percent (101,700 people), while men accounted for 42.2 percent (74,373 people). The educational sector saw the highest number of actions with 569, followed by municipal governments with 498 and public security with 387. Other targeted groups included public servants, women, children, adolescents, youth, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable populations.

Key topics addressed included public service quality, the right to equality and dignified treatment, workplace stress prevention, mental health, and the Peace and Prevention Backpack Protocol. The commission also focused on issues such as workplace harassment, sexual harassment, school bullying, and conflict management. Toluca recorded the highest number of actions with 1,043, followed by Ecatepec de Morelos, Zinacantepec, Almoloya de Juárez, Metepec, and Temoaya.
