Coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands face sharp decline
Coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands have experienced significant volatility. After a period of stability where prices hovered around 93,000 to 93,800 VND/kg, prices saw a sharp decline of 800 VND/kg on September 23.
In Lam Dong, prices dropped to 92,200 VND/kg, marking the lowest in the region, while areas in Dak Nong maintained higher levels around 93,000 VND/kg. Dak Lak and Gia Lai also reported decreases, with buying prices settling at 92,800 VND/kg. This downward trend is attributed to improving global supply prospects and increased liquidation pressure from speculative funds on international exchanges.
In a separate market development, tilapia prices in the Mekong Delta have risen significantly due to increased export demand, particularly from Japan, where exports reached approximately 1.4 million USD in the first half of the year.
