Commodity markets: Coffee prices recover as rubber hits 13-year high
Agricultural and industrial commodity markets on September 28, 2026, show mixed trends. Coffee prices in Vietnam have recovered to between 93,000 and 93,800 VND/kg, despite global pressures from a projected surplus in the 2025/26 season. The International Coffee Organization expects a record global production of 183.6 million bags, while Brazil's favorable weather and high exports continue to influence the market.
Rubber prices have surged toward 250 US cents/kg, reaching levels not seen since 2013. This spike is driven by supply disruptions, including port congestion in Ivory Coast and heavy rains in Thailand. Meanwhile, the domestic pork market in Vietnam has stabilized following recent declines, with prices ranging from 57,000 to 59,000 VND/kg, with Northern provinces maintaining the highest rates.
Rice prices in the Mekong Delta remain stable, with various export grades trading between 7,500 and 9,400 VND/kg.
