Vietnam coffee market sees price volatility and export growth

Vietnam's coffee market is experiencing significant volatility. Domestic prices in the Central Highlands have fluctuated, recently seeing a decrease of approximately 500 VND/kg, with prices ranging between 96,500 and 97,200 VND/kg. This domestic movement follows downward trends on international exchanges, where Robusta and Arabica prices have faced pressure, including a notable drop in Robusta London contracts.

Despite price fluctuations, Vietnam's coffee export outlook remains positive. Data from the first seven months of 2026 shows an export volume of 1.2 million tons, a 10.4% increase compared to the previous year, though total value decreased by 11.2% due to lower average export prices. The European Union remains the largest market, accounting for 40.6% of export value, while exports to the United States saw significant growth in volume.

In industrial developments, Nestlé Vietnam has commissioned a new, highly automated instant coffee packaging line at its Trị An plant in Đồng Nai. The facility, capable of producing over 350,000 jars per day, is designed to serve both domestic demand and international markets, including 11 different countries.
