COFOPRI advances property titling in Puno and Piura

The Organismo de Formalización de la Propiedad Informal (COFOPRI) is conducting land formalization campaigns in several regions of Peru to assist families in obtaining registered property titles.

In Puno, brigades are visiting 1,870 families across the provinces of San Román, Azángaro, and Melgar. The initiative aims to collect necessary documentation to complete the titling process through SUNARP. In Juliaca, the intervention targets 1,237 families in the Municipal Taparachi settlement, while other efforts will reach districts in Azángaro and Melgar through late October. COFOPRI noted that the census process is free of charge.

In Piura, COFOPRI has successfully registered the perimeter and lotting plans for the Villa Caritas settlement in the 26 de Octubre district. This milestone allows for the formalization of 1,020 lots. Executive Director Cecilia Castro Torres stated that the registration of these plans is a critical step that will enable the census of occupants and facilitate future infrastructure and basic service management for the community.
