Colima's Adult Education Institute teams with Diocese to launch parish learning modules

The Instituto Estatal de Educación para Adultos (IEEA) of the state of Colima, led by Governor Indira Vizcaíno Silva, has agreed with the Catholic Diocese of Colima to create education modules in parish churches. The modules will offer literacy, primary and secondary schooling for youth and adults in remote communities that have been unable to complete basic education. About 100 priests will act as local contacts, guiding parishioners to the programs. The initiative will be coordinated through the IEEA's four regional zones and is supported by Miguel Ángel Ibarra Flores, regional coordinator for the Instituto Nacional de Educación para Adultos (INEA). The partnership aims to reach thousands of Colima residents who have fallen behind in school.

The collaboration leverages the church’s territorial presence to bring state‑run educational services directly to isolated areas, seeking to reduce the educational gap across the state.
