Colive Fukuoka 2026 to target digital nomads in Kyushu
Yuko Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of ‘Colive Fukuoka 2026’, an international workation program scheduled to run from September 30 to October 10, 2026. Centered in Fukuoka City, the initiative aims to attract high-value inbound travelers, specifically digital nomads, to the Kyushu region through a model of long-term stays, regional dispersion, and community co-creation.
The program will facilitate travel across nine municipalities, including Yame, Koga, Buzen, Yanagawa, Shingu, Dazaifu, Ureshino, Goto, and Nagasaki. Participants are expected to stay for an average of 20 days, with some stays lasting up to 130 days, to foster deeper international exchange and local engagement.
This initiative aligns with Japan’s strategic shift from tourism volume to tourism quality. Data from the 2025 program indicates that participants spent an average of approximately 530,000 yen during their stay, significantly higher than the national average. The program seeks to transform the traditional tourism relationship into one of ‘relational population’ creation, where remote workers contribute to local innovation and investment.
