Colmenar Viejo sets 2026 Feria Taurina program
The municipal arena in Colmenar Viejo hosted the official presentation of the posters for the Feria Taurina de la Virgen de los Remedios 2026, scheduled from 29 August to 2 September. Mayor Carlos Blázquez, councilor Felipe Mansilla and entrepreneur Carlos Zúñiga highlighted the town’s commitment to the bullfighting tradition, announced three bullfights and two novilladas (including one without picadors), and named the participating toreros and ranches such as Talavante, Urdiales, Cuvillo, and Juan Manuel Criado.
Separately, the town of San Sebastián de los Reyes issued a municipal ordinance governing its 2026 encierros. Signed by mayor Lucía S. Fernández, the 13‑point regulation requires participants to be at least 16 years old, bans alcohol, drugs, phones and certain clothing, specifies a fixed route and times (11:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.), and stresses animal welfare and public safety. The measures aim to ensure orderly runs while protecting spectators and the bulls.
