Colombia advances major road and rail infrastructure projects
The governors of Córdoba and Antioquia have announced that the Valencia-San Pedro de Urabá road will be a priority project under the new RAP Córdoba-Antioquia strategic investment plan. The bidding process for this road connection is expected to open in the coming weeks. A second priority corridor identified in the plan is the San José de Uré-Tarazá road in the Bajo Cauca region.
In a separate infrastructure development, the Empresa Férrea Regional de Cundinamarca and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) presented the bidding terms for the RegioTram del Norte (Zipaquirá Train) to representatives from 17 countries. The presentation aimed to attract international consortia with technical expertise in railway construction, rolling stock, and advanced engineering to ensure global standards for the Zipaquirá-Bogotá corridor.
