Colombia advances road infrastructure with new Malecón route in Tumaco and El Edén avenue in Valledupar

The municipal government of Tumaco, in coordination with the Nariño Department, has begun construction of the Malecón de El Bajito road. The project aims to improve connectivity, boost tourism, and generate local employment by using labor from the area. It is presented as a step toward sustainable urban development and enhancing public spaces in the Pacific coastal district.

In Valledupar, a 1.6‑kilometre segment of the El Edén avenue was inaugurated by Governor Elvia Milena Sanjuan. The corridor features dual carriageways, two vehicular bridges, a dedicated bike lane, sidewalks, a wide boulevard and green zones. Officials highlighted its role in easing traffic, improving safety and providing recreational space for residents, with a running event marking the opening.
