Colombia arrests alleged coordinator of Bogotá assassination

Authorities in Villavicencio, Colombia, have captured the alleged logistical coordinator of a contract killing that occurred in February in the La Cabrera neighborhood of northern Bogotá. The suspect is accused of conducting surveillance and tracking the targets via motorcycle during the attack near a gym.

The shooting resulted in the deaths of a rice businessman and his security escort. Investigators noted that the perpetrators were reportedly targeting a different individual but struck the wrong victim during the armed assault. The suspect faces charges of aggravated homicide and illegal possession of firearms.
