Colombia authorities rescue individuals swept away by floodwaters

Heavy rainfall in Colombia has led to multiple rescue operations involving individuals swept away by strong currents. In Soledad, Atlántico, a police officer rescued a 13-year-old boy who was carried by the Salao stream after being caught by the current while playing soccer. The teenager was taken to Clínica Los Almendros for medical evaluation.

In Bogotá, emergency responders from the fire department and police rescued two men who were swept through a rainwater canal on Avenida NQS near Calle 48. The individuals were carried for more than 15 blocks before being brought to safety. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of how the men entered the canal, which is not intended for pedestrian use.
