Colombia authorizes multiple extraditions to Dominican Republic, US, Peru, and Panama

The Colombian government has authorized the extradition of Jorge Luis Mojica Ortiz to the Dominican Republic. Mojica Ortiz, a Dominican national captured in Medellín following an Interpol red notice, is wanted for investigation into the sexual abuse of a minor.

This decision is among the first judicial actions taken by President Abelardo de la Espriella since assuming office on August 7. The Ministry of Justice processed the request through resolutions 308 to 312 of 2026.

In addition to Mojica Ortiz, the administration authorized the extradition of four Colombian citizens for various serious crimes:

• Armando Luis Suárez Calvo and Didier Ignacio García will be extradited to the United States for involvement in international cocaine trafficking. • Diego Alberto Londoño will be sent to Peru for alleged aggravated drug trafficking. • Roderick Aldair Morales Delgado will be extradited to Panama to face investigations regarding aggravated homicide.

These measures are part of ongoing judicial cooperation mechanisms between Colombia and the requesting nations.
