Colombia captures two Mexican nationals linking CJNG and Clan del Golfo

Colombian authorities, in a joint operation with the FBI known as ‘Operation Lanza Roja’, have captured two Mexican citizens, identified by the aliases ‘La Patrona’ and ‘Pau’, in Barranquilla. The suspects are accused of acting as intermediaries to establish a criminal alliance between the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and the Clan del Golfo.

Investigations indicate the duo coordinated the logistics for transporting large quantities of cocaine from Colombia’s Caribbean coast to destinations in Central America, the United States, and Europe. Authorities noted that Costa Rica was being utilized as a distribution platform for these shipments.

The operation also resulted in the interception of one ton of cocaine intended for the United States. The captured individuals are currently facing charges of conspiracy and drug trafficking and are subjects of extradition requests.
