Colombia coffee production falls 15% in 2025-2026 cycle
Colombia's coffee production fell by 15% during the 2025-2026 coffee year, dropping to 12.65 million 60-kilogram bags compared to 14.87 million bags in the previous period. Germán Bahamón, general manager of the Federación Nacional de Cafeteros, attributed the decline to adverse weather conditions and lower crop yields.
Coffee exports also saw a decline, decreasing by 12% to reach 11.78 million bags. Despite the overall annual drop, there were signs of recovery in September, which saw a 6% increase in production compared to the same month in 2025.
Internal market data shows coffee imports reached 1.61 million bags over the last twelve months, while domestic consumption stood at 2.32 million bags annually.
