Colombia earthquake damages property and local church

Following a 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10, popular music singer Jhonny Rivera and his wife, Jenny López, have reported significant damage to their property and local landmarks in the Risaralda department.

Rivera visited the Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro church in Arabia, where the couple married in February 2026. The building sustained severe damage, including a collapsed wall that struck a nearby vehicle and a partially destroyed roof. Rivera also documented damage to his residence on the outskirts of Pereira.

In response to the disaster, Rivera has utilized his resources to assist those affected. He opened his hotel in central Risaralda to house medical personnel, rescuers, and displaced families. Additionally, he has participated in charity concerts and used his personal vehicle to deliver material aid to various emergency points.
