Colombia inflation reaches 6.03% in July 2026
Colombia's annual inflation reached 6.03% in July 2026, according to the Banco de la República. This figure remains significantly above the official target of 3%, impacting the purchasing power of households.
To combat inflationary pressures, the Banco de la República has maintained a restrictive monetary policy, keeping the policy interest rate at 12%. During the first half of 2026, the central bank increased the rate by 275 basis points to encourage a gradual return to the 3% target. The bank noted that household spending continues to exert pressure on prices, suggesting that inflation trends will remain a critical factor for economic decisions in the coming months.
