Colombia launches second round of Quiero Ser, Quiero Saber assessment
The Colombian Ministry of National Education has opened the second application of the formative diagnostic strategy Quiero Ser, Quiero Saber, scheduled for July 14‑31. The window targets students in grades 3, 5, 7 and 9, who may take the tests online or offline.
The programme expands linguistic inclusion, allowing pupils in grades 5 and 9 to sit the assessment in Wayuunaiki, Nasayuwé, Kubeo, Palenquero Creole or Colombian Sign Language, alongside Spanish. In its first rollout in 2026, more than 1.19 million learners from over 10 000 schools participated, with 4 097 taking the test in sign language or native tongues. Test results in language, mathematics, citizenship and socio‑emotional development will be used by teachers and education authorities to guide pedagogical decisions and improve educational quality nationwide.
