Colombia 2026 Saber 11 exam rollout

Overview

Following the July 26 administration of the Saber 11 exam to over 650,000 students, regional efforts to support participation and address administrative issues have continued.

In Buenaventura, the municipal government announced it would cover registration costs for 2,244 public school students to remove financial barriers and support higher education prospects. Libardo Riascos Perlaza, Rector of the Instituto Nacional de Educación Técnica y Profesional (INETERPO), noted the measure helps maintain equitable access to the exam.

However, the Procuraduría General de la Nación has launched a preliminary investigation into alleged registration irregularities in Santander. The probe targets officials from the Girón Secretary of Education and the Miguel Sánchez Hinestroza Educational Institution regarding the collection and payment of registration fees. These irregularities reportedly forced more than 38 students to take the state exam late. Authorities are currently reviewing financial records and registration logs to identify those responsible for the procedural failures.
