Colombia leaders unveil manifesto to curb polarization and launch Norte 2030 regional roadmap

Former ministers and public figures Cecilia López Montaño, José Antonio Ocampo and Juan Daniel Oviedo released a manifesto titled “Poner a Colombia primero”. The document calls for a national consensus to protect the 1991 Constitution, respect institutional independence, reject political violence, pursue responsible economic policies and strengthen dialogue in order to reduce the country’s deepening political polarization.

Separately, the newspaper La Opinión initiated the “Norte 2030” prospect project in the department of Norte de Santander. The effort brings together businessmen, trade groups, former regional officials, universities and public institutions to draft a four‑year roadmap covering competitiveness, infrastructure, border integration with Venezuela, human capital, sustainability, security and social cohesion. The resulting plan will be presented at a regional forum and aimed at shaping government, investment and cooperation agendas for the coming term.
