Argentina reorganizes nearly 400 automotive registries
The Argentine government has announced a major reorganization of the national automotive registry system through Resolution 411/2026. Issued by the Ministry of Justice, the measure is part of the ‘National Plan for Digitalization and Integral Reorganization of the Automotive Registry System’.
The plan involves the unification of 288 registries, the suppression of 14 intervened offices, and the operational closure of 13 others. This restructuring aims to reduce 368 independent registry units to 288 operations, effectively consolidating administrative competencies where a single individual was previously managing multiple registries.
Authorities have established a 30-day deadline for the transfer of documentation and ongoing procedures to the remaining operational offices. The reorganization will impact various provinces, including Entre Ríos, Corrientes, Santa Fe, and Buenos Aires. While the measure centralizes administrative functions to improve efficiency and digitalization, the impact on employment depends on whether registries are physically merged or simply administratively unified.
