Colombia probes fatal shootings of motorcyclists in Putumayo and Valle del Cauca

Authorities in Colombia are investigating two separate armed attacks that resulted in the deaths of motorcyclists. In Puerto Asís, Putumayo, 31‑year‑old Yilmar Diego Parra Rojas, known as “Tornillo,” was riding a Yamaha NMAX when unknown assailants opened fire, killing him. Police secured the scene, collected evidence and are seeking information to identify the perpetrators.

In Cartago, Valle del Cauca, 29‑year‑old Héctor Ramírez Zapata, a local informal transport rider, was ambushed on Carrera 6 BIS by two gunmen on another motorcycle. He suffered around 15 gunshot wounds and died instantly. The Cuerpo Técnico de Investigación conducted a technical inspection and forwarded the body to the local legal medicine institute. Both cases remain under active investigation.
