Colombia to Gradually Resume Electricity Exports to Ecuador

Colombia announced that it will restart the export of electricity to Ecuador on a gradual, condition‑based schedule. The Ministry of Mines and Energy said the flow will depend on reservoir levels and domestic demand, with daily monitoring to ensure Colombia’s own energy security.

The restart aims to alleviate Ecuador’s severe power shortages and strengthen regional energy integration amid upcoming El Niño risks.
