Colombian authorities launch investigations into public officials
The Attorney General's Office of Colombia has announced it will summon Angie Rodríguez and Laura Sarabia, former directors of the Administrative Department of the Presidency (Dapre), for questioning. The investigation focuses on alleged irregularities in the hiring of women during the administration of former President Gustavo Petro, amid allegations involving potential sexual favors in exchange for employment. A prosecutor delegated to the Supreme Court of Justice will lead the inquiry, supported by specialized investigators.
Separately, the Inspector General's Office (Procuraduría) has filed charges against Vanessa Paredes Zúñiga, the current director of the Administrative Department of Disaster Risk Management of Antioquia (Dagran). The charges stem from her previous tenure at the Urabá Sustainable Development Corporation (Corpourabá), where she is accused of administrative omissions regarding the handling of seized timber. The investigation seeks to determine if she failed to issue proper administrative acts for the legal disposal, donation, or destruction of seized materials, which are considered public assets.
