Colombian oversight agencies launch audits and report fiscal findings

The Comptroller General of Antioquia has launched a new cycle of fiscal surveillance and control for 2026. The initiative includes 24 audits targeting 12 municipal administrations and 12 hospitals across various subregions, including Urabá and Bajo Cauca. The total budget subject to these audits exceeds $1.8 trillion pesos. So far in 2026, the agency has reported quantitative benefits of over $57.4 billion pesos through its oversight actions.

In Bogotá, the Comptroller's Office identified a fiscal finding exceeding $7.9 billion pesos following an audit of the District Secretariat of Finance regarding the 2025 period. The investigation revealed failures in the collection of industry and commerce (ICA), property, and vehicle taxes. Specifically, several debts from 2017, 2018, and 2019 were not recovered and were subsequently removed from the Secretariat's records, resulting in a potential impact on public assets.
