Colombia authorities capture two major drug trafficking suspects

Colombian law enforcement agencies have arrested two high-profile individuals allegedly involved in international narcotics trafficking.

In Cali, authorities captured Kebin Erney Arroyo Cortés, known as alias ‘Kebin’. He is identified as a strategic leader within the Segunda Marquetalia, a dissident FARC group, specifically serving the Coordinadora Guerrillera del Pacífico. According to investigations involving the DEA, Arroyo Cortés allegedly coordinated the shipment of large quantities of cocaine from the Colombian Pacific toward Mexico, Central America, and the United States. He is reportedly facing extradition requests from a U.S. District Court in the Virgin Islands for drug trafficking and conspiracy.

In Pereira, officials arrested José Ramiro Tobón Osorio, known as alias ‘El Viejo’. Tobón was located via an Interpol Red Notice and is wanted for extradition by Peruvian authorities. He is accused of leading a transnational criminal organization that used coffee shipments as a front to smuggle cocaine. The illicit route allegedly moved drugs from Colombia through Peru to reach destinations in Europe, including the Netherlands.
