Colombian law enforcement operations against organized crime

Overview

Colombian authorities have conducted several high profile operations targeting various criminal organizations and drug trafficking networks.

In Cali, law enforcement arrested Kebin Erney Arroyo Cortés, an alleged leader within the Segunda Marquetalia dissident FARC group. He is reportedly accused of coordinating cocaine shipments from the Colombian Pacific to Mexico, Central America, and the United States, and faces potential extradition to the United States. In Pereira, officials arrested José Ramiro Tobón Osorio, who was wanted via an Interpol Red Notice. He is accused of leading a transnational organization that allegedly used coffee shipments to smuggle cocaine through Peru to Europe.

In a separate multi agency crackdown in the Cúcuta, Villa del Rosario, and San Cayetano areas, authorities captured 111 individuals, including one minor. This operation targeted seven criminal structures, including alleged members of the ELN, Tren de Aragua, and La Familia P. The offensive resulted in the seizure of firearms, ammunition, drugs, and vehicles valued at approximately 500 million pesos. Charges being pursued include homicide, extortion, drug trafficking, and human trafficking.
