Colombian police seize drugs in Huila and arrest gun owner in Meta

Police in the Colombian department of Huila captured a suspect in Santa María after finding several doses of marijuana and a base of coca during a routine control operation. The seized substances were seized as part of the "Huila Más Seguro" strategy aimed at reducing drug trafficking and improving public safety. The arrested individual was handed over to the judicial authorities for further proceedings.

In the neighbouring department of Meta, officers from the National Police’s Modelo Nacional de Servicio captured a 51‑year‑old man in the town of Cabuyaro. During a check of a commercial establishment, they discovered a Scorpio revolver of 38 SPL caliber and six matching cartridges, valued at roughly three million pesos. The suspect, who could not present legal documentation for the weapon, was placed under the custody of the 34th Sectional Prosecutor’s Office in Puerto López. Authorities emphasized that such operations are part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal arms and ensure community safety.
