Colombia's June 2026 Inflation Climbs to 6.14% Annually

The National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) reported that Colombia's annual consumer price index (CPI) reached 6.14 % in June 2026, the highest level in almost two years and up 1.32 percentage points from 4.82 % in June 2025. The monthly CPI rose 0.39 %.

The main contributors to the price increase were food and non‑alcoholic beverages, which rose 0.67 % month‑on‑month, and the housing‑water‑electricity‑gas group, which rose 0.52 %. Sectors with the strongest annual gains included restaurants and hotels (9.59 %), health services (8.39 %) and education (7.57 %). Slight declines were recorded in recreation and culture and in information and communication.

Cumulative inflation for the first half of 2026 stood at 4.77 %, above the 3 % target set by the Banco de la República, tightening pressure on monetary‑policy decisions and household budgets.
