Colombia's Colpensiones keeps pension transfer window open as Dominican AFP Popular merges with AFP Romana

Colpensiones, Colombia’s public pension administrator, confirmed that the window for pension transfers between private and public funds remains open until 16 July. The agency rejected rumours that its system was shut down, noting that all 81 service points, digital channels and phone lines are operating normally while a planned technology upgrade proceeds.

In the Dominican Republic, AFP Popular and AFP Romana announced their integration, a move approved by the Superintendence of Pensions (SIPEN). The merger consolidates more than 428 billion Dominican pesos in assets and 1.6 million affiliates, with assurances that individual accounts and benefits will not be affected and that service continuity will be maintained.
