Colombia's DIAN launches virtual auction of seized goods and opens tax data portal

The Dirección de Impuestos y Aduanas Nacionales (DIAN) opened a five‑day virtual public auction on July 27, 2026, lasting until July 31, 2026. The online sale, conducted through the El Martillo platform of Banco Popular, offers a range of seized items—including vehicles, motorcycles, industrial machinery, jewelry, watches, gold and silver—available for citizens to bid after registering and making a deposit via PSE. DIAN warned users to avoid unofficial channels such as social media or WhatsApp and to verify all information on its official websites.

In a separate initiative, DIAN made exogenous tax information for the 2025 fiscal year publicly accessible ahead of the 2026 tax‑return filing season. The portal lets individuals and businesses review data reported by third parties—banks, employers, suppliers, notaries, and other entities—covering salaries, withholdings, bank balances, credit‑card purchases, real‑estate transactions and other income. Access to this data aims to help taxpayers detect inconsistencies and improve the accuracy of their tax declarations.
