After the official recognition of the second‑round presidential results, former presidential candidate Iván Cepeda and his vice‑presidential running mate Aida Quilcué confirmed they will occupy the opposition seats granted by Colombia’s Statute of the Opposition. Cepeda will serve a Senate term from 2026‑2030, while Quilcué will take a seat in the Chamber of Representatives. Both submitted their acceptance to the National Electoral Council following the national vote count that confirmed Abelardo De La Espriella’s victory. They pledged to exercise democratic oversight and represent their movement from the legislature throughout the upcoming quadri‑ennial period.
