Colombia's President‑elect De La Espriella receives regional agendas on security and infrastructure
President‑elect Abelardo De La Espriella met with Governor Andrés Julián of Antioacia to outline a three‑part agenda focused on improving security, restoring the health system and advancing key infrastructure projects such as the Toyo Tunnel and a new coastal route. The governor warned that the previous administration left a “debt” of insecurity and urged stronger action against criminal groups.
Separately, the Nariño business council presented its “SOS por Nariño” roadmap, urging the new national government to invest in border‑area infrastructure, security, economic development and integration, particularly for the city of Ipiales and surrounding municipalities. Council president Arturo Ortega highlighted the need for road upgrades, trade corridor improvements and measures against illicit economies.
