Incoming Colombian president Abelardo De La Espriella announced a roadmap to deepen commercial ties with El Salvador. In a meeting with Vice‑President‑designate José Manuel Restrepo, Commerce Minister‑designate Mauricio Gómez Amín, and Salvadoran Economy Minister María Luisa Hayem, the teams said they will review the bilateral trade agreement in force since 2010 and explore possible expansions.
The agenda targets increased opportunities for Colombian exporters, investors and workers, with priority sectors identified as industry, agro‑industry, tourism and small‑ and‑medium‑sized enterprises. The goal is to attract investment, boost bilateral trade and generate new jobs in both economies.
