Colonel Onofrio Panebianco appointed Carabinieri Commander in Potenza

Michele Campanaro, the Prefect of Potenza, held an institutional meeting with Colonel Onofrio Panebianco, who has assumed command of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri in Potenza.

Colonel Panebianco, 49, has an extensive background in law and security sciences. His career includes participation in peacekeeping missions in Iraq and Kosovo between 2003 and 2005, as well as command roles in Naples and Melito Porto Salvo. He previously held significant investigative positions within the Special Operations Group (ROS), including leading the Anti-Crime Department in Milan and serving as Head of the Anti-Mafia Investigative Directorate Center in Palermo.

The meeting focused on defining public order and security priorities for the province. Key objectives discussed include strengthening territorial control, preventing and combating criminal activities, and promoting a culture of legality. Prefect Campanaro highlighted recent security achievements based on integrated institutional cooperation and ongoing dialogue with local administrations.
