Colorado Baca County wildfire prompts mandatory evacuations in Campo
A rapidly spreading wildfire in Baca County, Colorado, has burned more than 13,000 acres and prompted mandatory evacuations for the town of Campo and areas along Road 24 up to the state line. The Baca County Emergency Management office warned of an active threat to life and property and urged residents to evacuate northward as the fire moved south‑to‑northwest. A Red Flag Warning remained in effect due to gusty winds and low humidity.
Oklahoma officials also mobilized resources, including air support from Oklahoma Forestry Services, to assist Colorado crews as the blaze originated near the Colorado‑Oklahoma border. No injuries have been reported so far.
