Colorado GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Victor Marx Charged with Campaign Finance Violations

Republican candidate Victor Marx, who won Colorado’s GOP gubernatorial primary, has been cited for multiple violations of state campaign finance law. A complaint filed by the Colorado Secretary of State’s office alleges that 111 donors contributed a total of $78,000 in excess of the $1,450 per‑person limit and that cash contributions over $100 were accepted.

The investigation began on May 8, 2026, after former GOP state party officer Darcy Schoening filed 109 complaints. Marx’s campaign said it is cooperating with the Secretary of State and will address any required corrections through proper legal channels. No further comment will be made while the administrative process is ongoing.
