Colorado Governor Primary Polls Show Tightening Race Between Bennet and Weiser
Colorado voters will choose the Democratic and Republican nominees for governor on June 30. The Democratic contest features U.S. Senator Michael Bennet and Attorney General Phil Weiser, while the Republican primary includes nonprofit leader Victor Marx, state Sen. Barb Kirkmeyer and Rep. Scott Bottoms.
Recent polling indicates the Bennet‑Weiser race has narrowed dramatically. A Public Policy Polling survey (June 1‑2) gave Bennet a six‑point lead, while a Colorado Community Research poll (May 22‑28) showed Weiser ahead by eight points. Earlier polls earlier in the year had Bennet with double‑digit advantages. About a quarter of respondents remain undecided, and unaffiliated voters—who make up roughly half of the electorate—can vote in either party's primary.
