Colorado Party Wins 11 Seats on Asunción Municipal Board

The Electoral Tribunal of Paraguay (TREP) released preliminary results with 99% of polling stations counted for the upcoming October general elections. The Colorado Party’s list 2P led with 55,260 votes, translating into a virtual allocation of 11 of the 24 seats on the Asunción Municipal Board. List 2C trailed with 36,669 votes and would receive 7 seats; lists 6 and 7 each earned about 15,000 and 14,933 votes and would obtain 3 seats each; the Orden Republicano movement fell short.

The projected council composition lists Miguel Sosa at the top with 9,226 votes, followed by Gerardo “Gringo” Benítez (7,227) and Seba Radice (6,332). The remaining seats are allocated to candidates such as El Arki Sotomayor, Marce Centurion, Dani Fernandez and others down to Enrique Wagener, who received 1,186 votes. These figures are based on the virtual count and will be finalized once all ballots are tallied.
