Comcast reports revenue decline at Universal theme parks

Comcast’s theme parks division reported a 4.4% decline in revenue for the third quarter, totaling approximately $2.6 billion. Adjusted EBITDA also fell by 17.1% to $780 million compared to the previous year.

Executives attributed the downturn to softening demand in Orlando and certain international markets. Comcast co-CEO Mike Cavanagh noted that competitors were quicker to anticipate shifts in demand and adapt their marketing strategies accordingly.

Additionally, the company is addressing capacity and ride throughput challenges at the newly opened Epic Universe theme park. Management described these issues as temporary rather than structural and expressed expectations for a return to growth by the second half of 2027.
