Comcast third quarter financial performance
Overview
Comcast reported third-quarter revenue of $29.3 billion, representing a 6.1% decrease from the previous year, though net income rose 3.5% to approximately $3.45 billion. The results showed a split between media growth and declines in connectivity services.
NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock, achieved its second consecutive quarterly profit of $261 million, with revenue increasing 34% to $1.3 billion. However, the connectivity and platforms segment saw revenue fall 2.6% to $19.7 billion, driven by the loss of 144,000 residential broadband customers and 274,000 video customers.
The company’s theme parks division also experienced a downturn, reporting a 4.4% decline in revenue to approximately $2.6 billion and a 17.1% drop in adjusted EBITDA. Executives attributed this to softening demand in Orlando and certain international markets, as well as capacity and ride throughput challenges at the new Epic Universe theme park. Management expects a return to growth in the theme park sector by the second half of 2027.
