Comic Market and Manhwa Expo draw large crowds in Japan and Taiwan

Major anime and manga events recently concluded in Japan and Taiwan. In Japan, Comic Market 108 was held at Tokyo Big Sight on August 15 and 16. The event saw approximately 260,000 attendees over two days, with roughly 130,000 visitors each day. This represents a decrease of about 40,000 people compared to the previous Comic Market 107, which hosted approximately 300,000 visitors. Despite unstable weather, the event featured 23,000 participating circles and a record 121 corporate booths.

In Taiwan, the 25th Manhwa Expo took place at the Taipei World Trade Center from July 23 to 27. Held in conjunction with gaming and film exhibitions, the event featured over 1,200 booths from more than 120 companies. The five-day expo attracted approximately 635,000 visitors and featured extensive cosplay activities involving popular game and anime characters.
