Commercial LPG cylinder prices rise in India
Oil companies have increased the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders effective September 1. The price hike ranges from approximately 9.50 to 10.50 rupees depending on the city.
In Delhi, the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder rose from 2,738 rupees to 2,747.50 rupees. In Mumbai, the cost increased from 2,691.50 rupees to 2,701 rupees. Chennai saw a higher increase of 10.50 rupees, bringing the price to 2,916.50 rupees. Other cities such as Gurugram, Noida, Lucknow, and Patna also reported updated rates for commercial use.
While commercial prices rose, the rates for 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinders remained unchanged. However, the price of 5 kg cylinders saw a slight increase of 2 rupees, rising from 762 rupees to 764 rupees.
Historical data from Indian Oil between 2014 and 2025 shows fluctuating trends for commercial LPG prices during this period. Between August 1 and September 1, prices decreased six times and increased five times. The largest price reduction occurred in 2023, while the most significant hike was recorded in 2017.
