New regulatory measures implemented on October 1 include a Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) system designed to enhance transparency and prevent black marketing. Under this system, consumers must provide a unique OTP sent to their registered mobile number to the delivery agent to complete a transaction. There is also an increased emphasis on E-KYC processes to maintain valid connections.
While domestic rates have remained steady, commercial 19 kg LPG cylinder prices experienced hikes earlier in the month. In Delhi, the commercial cylinder price rose to ₹2,810, while in Mumbai, prices reached ₹2,764. These increases are expected to impact operating costs for the catering, hotel, and restaurant sectors, potentially increasing the cost of meals and sweets during the current festive season.
